Pawsitively Unleashed LLC was founded in 1997 (fka Happy Tails To You) with the mission of offering high quality training opportunities for area dog owners in an educational based format, free from the use of harsh training methods.
That mission continues today as our trainers and instructors are highly qaulified, with the nessasary level of knowledge in animal behavior, functional analysis and learning theory. All programming at Pawsitively Unleashed LLC revolves around the overall behavioral, physical, and emotional wellness of our client's canine family members.
Pawsitively Unleashed LLC's group classes are designed to address the behavior issues faced by today's dog owners and go beyond the basic sit, down, and stay. All classes are educational based and students can expect to learn not only how to teach skills, but the science of learning for a better understanding and deeper human-canine bond.
Classes are based on the concepts of operant conditioning, and are reinforcement based. Creating a learning environment is the cornerstone of the PawsU program, so small class sizes are a guarantee. All classes are open enrollment so you can join anytime and wont miss a thing.
We are located on 10 acres in Central WI, and operate from our home so someone is normally on site at all times.

My formal background is in early childhood education, more specifically kindergarten readiness (what is today's 4 year old kindergarten). Pawsitively Unleashed! was created to offer high quality education opportunities for pet owners in order to help dogs remain in their homes, as the well-mannered companions they can be.
I began serving Central WI dog owner's in 1995, when I joined a local all-breed dog club, and began volunteering as a training assistant and instructor, and later became the training director. Noting available classes were designed around the use of aversive methods and formal obedience competition exercises, I decided to offer dog owners the opportunity to learn about positive training methods and in 1997 opened my own training facility based on the philosophy of positive training methods and the 'whole dog approach'. (It was fka Happy Tails To You).
I became a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and educated myself on the methods of positive training and the science behind them. In May 2011 I graduated from the Companion Animal Science's Institute (diploma program) Canine Behavior Science and Technology program, enabling me to offer formal behavior consults with owner's and their dogs in the hopes of keeping them from being surrendered. In addition, I earned my certificate from the Animal Behavior College as an ABC Mentor Trainer in October, 2011.
While I do actively compete in several dog sports, my programs are aimed at the average pet owner, I leave competition training to other instructors, wishing instead to offer the best possible options in training and education to those owners wanting a well-mannered dog.
My philosophy is simple...training methods based on real science and not ego are the best way to not only help your dog understand what is expected, but it creates a life long bond! Owner education of dog training keeps dogs forever in the home!
